1) Who is VisualCV?
Based in Reston, Virginia USA, VisualCV has pioneered how professionals create a visually compelling Internet-based resume, build and manage an online career portfolio and securely share professional qualifications with employers, customers, partners and colleagues, using Web 2.0 technology. Since its inception in 2006, VisualCV has received press coverage from CNN, MSNBC, CNET, and The Wall Street Journal for their innovative approach of allowing professional candidates to stand out with employers and present their qualifications in a more visually compelling way.
2) Why did Talent Technology acquire VisualCV?
The VisualCV offerings provide an engaging way for candidates to include content such as videos, images, audio and work samples to help them stand out from the crowd and truly showcase their accomplishments. These offerings are not only a great tool for job seekers, they also help corporate HR departments and recruiting agencies learn far more about each of their candidates enabling them to make more effective hiring decisions.
Talent Technology’s mission is to connect people and jobs through smart technology. This agreement strengthens Talent Technology’s ability to deliver on that mission.
3) What are the product plans for VisualCV?
Until further notice, VisualCV will remain a standalone product with continued support for both existing and new customers. In the future, users can look forward to new innovations and additional free functionality to help them create even more engaging online resumes faster and easier.
4) What is being acquired from VisualCV?
Talent Technology will only be acquiring the technology, any existing user base, the VisualCV brand and web site and social media properties.
5) What will happen to the VisualCV brand?
Until further notice, VisualCV will continue to operate separately from Talent Technology under its existing brand.
6) What does this mean for VisualCV Customers?
VisualCV had originally planned to cease operations at the end of 2011. However, the service will continue to operate as a standalone offering, allowing current VisualCV users to continue to leverage their dynamic and secure online resumes. Users can also look forward to new innovations to help them create even more engaging online resumes faster and easier in the future.
7) How will VisualCV and Talent Technology customers benefit from this deal?
Even with advances in technology, social media and applicant tracking systems, the experience of getting a job is often difficult for both the candidate and the recruiter. In a competitive job market its hard for candidates to stand out in their job search.
